In this free online find-a-word game (also known as Word Search, or word jumble puzzle game) words may be hidden horizontally, vertically, diagonally, forward, or backward within the game grid. Game words which you are to find are shown on the right side. Click and hold down your mouse button on one end of the word, and drag to the other end of the word before releasing the mouse button when you find one of the game words in the puzzle grid. If your selection was correct, the word will remain marked in the game grid and will be removed from the games word list. To cheat in the game and have it mark a difficult word for you, click on the word to mark it in the list on the right side, and click the FIND WORDS button.
The best game strategy to find all of the words is to go through the wordgame puzzle left to right (or vice versa) and look for the first letter of the word (if a word list is provided). After one has found the letter, they should look at the eight surrounding letters to see if the next letter of the word is there, then continue this method until the entire word is found.
Another game strategy is to look for 'outstanding' letters within the word one is searching for. Since most word searches use capital letters, it is easiest to spot the letters which stand out from others. These letters are: Q, O, U, X, and Z.
Lastly, the puzzle strategy of looking for double letters in the word you are searching for proves to help, because it is easier to spot two identical side-by-side letters among a large grid of random letters in the game.
Sometimes the game puzzle itself will help. The bigger the word and the more words, the easier they are to spot. The puzzle might use every row, column, or diagonal - or just every other row, column, or diagonal in the game grid.
